Firebirds Take Down Buccaneers, 120-104
Surprise! Yesterday, the Firebirds travelled down to Savannah to take on the Buccaneers. They emerged victorious, winning by 16 points. The game was close, with Savannah leading for quite a bit of the first half; however, in the second half, the game was never really in doubt.
This win brings the Firebirdsâ record to an impressive 15-3! This is undoubtedly the best regular season this team has ever had. Now, theyâll have a chance to solidify their awesomeness this weekend. đ„
Weekend Matchups
The Firebirds have two exciting games this weekend to round out our regular season! While the regular season doesnât end for us this weekend, these are our last two home games before the playoffs. Letâs pack the nest and give our players the support and fans they deserve!
Saturday, May 17th: First Responders Night
For Saturdayâs game, weâll celebrate all the first responders who serve our local community. They have critical jobs and save many lives every day. At this game, weâll recognize and honor all first responders the way they deserve.
Sunday, May 18th: End of Season Party
This is our last home game of the season, and we want to go out with a bang! The last home game is always our end-of-season party, where we invite everyone whoâs attended all of our games this season back out for a day of fun. We celebrate our success and hype up our team as they head into the playoffs to claim that coveted Lillie.

League Power Rankings Update
The latest edition of the league power rankings has come out, and the Firebirds have moved up! If you remember from the last time I announced power rankings in Firebird Focus, the team clocked in at eight; however, after their superb play the past two weeks (in which they havenât lost a game), the team has jumped to five. With impressive wins over Savannah and Jacksonville and a nail-biter against the Capital Seahawks, the rest of the league recognizes the Firebirds' power.
The teams ranked ahead of us are quite good; Potawatomi is the two-time reigning league champions, and teams 1-4 have lost either one or two games all season. The Firebirds have lost three, but theyâve also had considerable travel this season, which has helped prepare the team for the playoffs.
It will be an exciting ride, so buckle up for the adventure! The Firebirds wonât rest until we win the coveted Lillie.
