Another 8 AM Track Session...

...at 28 Degrees Farenheit 😬

A while back I wrote about the Firebirds’ 8 AM Sunday track sessions. Team market owner Wade Harris holds these workouts to help players increase their agility and speed and build mental toughness. Anyone can attend basketball practice and work on their shooting or ball handling. But to wake up early on a Sunday when you don’t have to so you can work on your stamina? That’s dedication.

The offseason is just about over, and yet, the guys have kept through with this conditioning all throughout the winter. Yesterday morning, it was 28 degrees Fahrenheit, quite literally below freezing! Yet Dreko Palmer, the Firebirds’ point guard and TBL All-Star, was still running in sweatpants and a hoodie. That’s commitment to improving your craft.

Considering training camp is starting this upcoming week, this was likely the last or second to last track session of the offseason. However, I want to shout out every player and prospective Firebirds player who’s shown up to these sessions, sacrificing a few hours of sleep for the opportunity to get better.

Now…

If you want to watch these young men battle the rest of the TBL to bring a championship to Raleigh…

If you want to see the results of all the work they put in this offseason…

Then the time is now to buy tickets for this upcoming season. Our home opener is just under two weeks away, which I wouldn’t miss for the world.
