Well...we're officially the best team on the East Coast

Happy Firebirds Friday!

Yesterday, the battle of the two best teams on the East Coast went down: your Raleigh Firebirds vs. the visiting Frederick Flying Cows. The Cows came into this game with a 4-0 record, while the Firebirds were 3-0. No other team on the East Coast was undefeated. Yet, after all the smoke and flames, it was the Firebirds who rose from the ashes.

The game was no cakewalk, as you can see from the final score. This was a win we fought and scrapped for, and escaped with thanks to Dreko Palmer. With around 20ish seconds left in the game, the Firebirds were up four, when one of the Cows (that sounds weird to say) made a clutch three-pointer. Up one, the Firebirds raced down the other end of the court, and it was TBL All-Star Dreko Palmer who put the Firebirds up three. The team won by two, making this the first time in franchise history that the Firebirds have started 4-0.

Our top players never seem to disappoint, especially with these stats! Shoutout to Daequon Antoine, who put up a much-needed 15 points in his season debut.

For this to be the first time in franchise history that the Firebirds are 4-0…that’s something special. Something that’s never been done before.

Does this mean that the Firebirds are going to win The Lily? Not necessarily, but it shows that we’re on the right track.

If you want to witness one of the best teams in the TBL before the playoffs start, make sure to buy tickets here! Our next home game is Friday, March 22nd, and we want to see a packed house!

I’ll be back in your inbox next week.

Until then,

-Tex
