Partner Highlight:

The Firebirds are proud to announce a new partnership for our STEM Education game with The NC State University Science House. Alonzo Alexander is the Director of Imhotep Academy, a year-round middle school enrichment program. Imhotep introduces students to the world of STEM, particularly focusing on reaching underserved and historically underrepresented students in STEM disciplines. Imhotep also aims to increase students’ awareness and enthusiasm for learning STEM, build students’ confidence and identity in STEM, and inspire students to continue studying STEM throughout high school and college. Participants engage in a variety of activities, including hands-on investigations, laboratory tours, field trips, leadership, college readiness, and interactions with STEM professionals.

The Science House has provided innovative programs to K-12 teachers and students across the state of North Carolina since 1991. Its extension and accessibility efforts annually reach over 4,000 teachers and administrators and over 200,000 students directly and indirectly through its many programs. The Firebirds look forward to working with Alonzo Alexander, Cardae Neal, and Kiy Benton from Imhotep Academy.

That’s all for today! I’ll talk to you on Friday.

Until then,

-Tex
