Dix Park Conservancy

Ruffin Hall is the President and CEO of the Dix Park Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming Dorothea Dix Park into a world-class destination. A seasoned public sector leader, Hall previously served as Raleigh's City Manager and was instrumental in the initial planning and acquisition for the park before joining the Conservancy.

Nick Smith is the Chief of Staff for the Dix Park Conservancy in Raleigh, North Carolina, a non-profit organization that partners with the city to develop and maintain Dorothea Dix Park. In his role, he leads strategic planning, project advocacy, and works to facilitate the public-private partnership for building the park.

As the nonprofit partner to the City of Raleigh, the Conservancy works to raise awareness, secure private funding, and build community support for projects that will bring their plan to life. From expanding green spaces and walking trails, to developing playgrounds, and performance areas, the work being done today is laying the foundation for a park that will serve as a central hub of wellness and connection for generations in our community.
