Happy Firebirds Friday! It’s one of the most joy-filled times of the year, and that’s the first Friday of March! Every year, the Firebirds play their first home game on the first Friday of March, and it’s always a special occasion. Today, I’ll be breaking down the matchup and going over some reminders for those attending the game. But first, a word from today’s sponsor:

What to Expect Tonight

If you’ve never been to a Firebirds game before, then you might be wondering: what should I expect from a Firebirds game? That’s a great question! The Firebirds are a competitive team in The Basketball League (TBL), with some of the best players, staff members, and fans across the entire league! Raleigh and North Carolina are super passionate places for basketball, and we live up to the rich history of the state by fielding competitive rosters year after year.

Firebirds games are fun for the whole family too; you don’t have to be a certain age to enjoy a good basketball game. Tonight, we’ll be taking on the Savannah Buccaneers from Georgia, a great team in the Southeast Division. This will undoubtedly be a great game, so buckle up!

WHERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS

While you can purchase tickets at the door of Emery Gymnasium, our opening night typically sells out. Thus, it’s a good idea to get your tickets ahead of time (online). Here’s exactly how to purchase tickets:

  1. Go to raleighfirebirds.net/tickets

  2. Click buy tickets

  3. Once you see the list of games, click on the first one (our March 7th home opener, which is Municipalities Night)

  4. Buy as many tickets as your heart (or family) desires!

Game Day Reminders

If you missed them in yesterday’s surprise issue of Firebird Focus, here are some important reminders for everyone attending the game this evening:

  • Parking is free and plentiful! The later you arrive, the further away it will be from the gym; however, you don’t have to worry about paying

  • Doors to the game open at 6 PM, one (1) hour before tip-off

  • Your tickets don’t correspond to a certain seat number; you can sit as close to or as far away from the action as you want. The earlier you get to the gym, however, the better spot you’re likely to have.

  • There will be concessions for sale!
