Some Training Camp Invites and Previewing a Few More of Our Game Themes

Happy Wednesday! Aside from previewing some more game themes, today I’ll be introducing some of our training camp invitees. Buckle up!

Introducing Our Training Camp Roster

After another successful mini-camp, the Firebirds are finalizing the team training camp roster! Training camp doesn’t start until mid-way through February, but we’re giving fans a sneak peak of the action by revealing the roster throughout this week on Instagram. Here are the first few players who have been announced and some information about them:

The first official training camp invite to be released is Jeremiah Pope! Pope is a 6’5” guard who can do it all. He impressed the coaches at last week’s mini-camp with his play on the court, determination, and work ethic. Pope has a very bright future, and will battle it out for one of the final 12 spots on the Firebirds roster!

The next training camp invite to be announced is Keshawn Pegues! Pegues also stands at 6’5”, and is a very skilled basketball player. However, what stood out to all the coaches during last week’s mini-camp was his physicality and aggressiveness. He’ll bring that same intensity to training camp, and to the Firebirds this season if he makes the final roster.

We’re wishing the best of luck to both these young men as they compete for a spot on the final roster!

Firebirds Health & Stem Fair

A reminder to put the Firebirds Health and Stem Fair on your calendar! The event will be on February 15th at Marsh Creek Community Center, from 11 AM-2 PM. This is a great opportunity to connect with local STEM and healthcare companies in the Triangle, so don’t miss out!

Game Spotlight: Health Awareness Game and Season Ticket Holders/Partners Night

Game 3: Health Awareness Day

The Firebirds’ third game of the season is our Health Awareness Game! The Firebirds’ health focus is centered around Mental Healh, M.S. Awareness, Autism Awareness, Heart Health, and Cancer Research. The Health Awareness game is used to bring awareness to organizations that support these initiatives and help people. Health is wealth, and when you have health, you have all you need. Organizations who will be present at this game include Duke Health, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, M.S. Society, Autism Society, Alliance Health, Oak Street Health, and Pivot Physical Therapy.

Game 4: Sponsors/Partners/Season Ticket Holders Night

The Firebirds’ fourth game of the season will be our Sponsors, Partners, and Season Ticket Holders Appreciation Game. We would not be able to play basketball without all of your support! The sponsors who fund us, the partners who support us, and the fans who show up to every game…you guys are what allow us to be the force that we are, on and off the court. The Firebirds are forever grateful for everything you do for us, and we’ll use this fourth game to show that appreciation.

Make sure you get your tickets for the Firebirds today, and I’ll talk to you on Friday.

Until then,

-Tex
