Previewing Our Game Happening...Tomorrow?

The first (and possibly only) of its kind

Today, I’m previewing our upcoming matchup against the Frederick Flying Cows. You may be asking, wait, isn’t that game on Friday? Nope! It’s on Thursday, and to confuse you even more, it’s at 11 AM. Let me break down the rationale behind the time and date for this matchup.

At first glance, it seems outlandish. A game on a school day/work day? And in the middle of the day too, likely before anyone’s on lunch break! When you look at it that way, yes, it doesn’t seem too great of a move. However, there’s one other factor to consider.

The Firebirds play their home games at Word of God Christian Academy. That means that all the students attending Word of God will be able to watch the Firebirds during the middle of their school day! It gives us a built-in student section, and a chance to directly connect with youth in our community.

This game will be particularly interesting because of our opponent. The Firebirds are still in the stage of the season where we’re playing everyone for the first time, and our opponents are the Frederick Flying Cows. They play in a different division than us, but they boast a 4-0 record, making this the battle of the East Coast!

For those who are still interested in tuning in for the game, no worries! It’ll be streamed on TBLTV and WRAL Sports Fan, and I’ll have a recap of the game in your inbox for the Friday edition of Firebird Focus.

And of course… if you are interested in attending, you know where to find tickets.
