Last Weekend's Road Trip Recap

...it ended in tragedy 😭

Happy Wednesday! The Firebirds went on a road trip this week, and the following is a summary of the trip from team market owner Wade Harris. Enjoy!

The Firebirds are coming off a road trip to the North for the first time in three years! They won big in Winchester, VA, where they took on the Virginia Valley Vipers in a matchup on Saturday night. The Firebirds were victorious but lost leading scorer Dreko Palmer to an ankle sprain. Unfortunately, this ruled him out for Sunday’s matchup against the team’s newly formed arch-rivals, the Frederick Flying Cows.

As if the game wasn’t tough enough without Palmer, the Firebirds lost their second-leading scorer to an undisclosed rule that got Daequon Antoine ejected after his 3rd three-pointer in a row (which had put the Firebirds up five). It got really tough after that because the Firebirds were playing with eight players, and without their two leading scorers.

However, the Firebirds bounce back this Friday night at home against the 95ers from Jacksonville, Florida. The game starts at 7 PM, and make sure to get your tickets at raleighfirebirds.net! As a reminder, all remaining Firebirds home games are played at St. Augustine’s University (1315 Oakwood Avenue).
