The Raleigh Firebirds Show is Back! 🗣️
After a two-season-long break, the Raleigh Firebirds show is officially back and heating up for the playoffs! During our first episode back, Petey and I break down the Firebirds’ historic season so far, and what we can expect from the Firebirds in the 2025 TBL playoffs. It’s a great listen, especially on your way to work, physical therapy, or the chiropractor!
For the playoffs, we’ll release podcast episodes after every game and post them here on Firebird Focus. That way, you can stay up to date on the happenings of the team, even if you can’t make it to a game.

Game Day Against the Flying Cows 🐄🪽
It’s game day! The Firebirds are taking on the Fredericksburg Flying Cows in our final regular-season game.
Key Matchups:
Julian Gamble vs. Javon Adams
Both big men are 6’10”, average a double-double, and are key to their team’s offenses. Which one will come out on top? Whoever can outperform the other will likely win the game for their team.
DJ Thomas vs. Damien Daniels
Both guards are 5’7”, pass-first guards who move quickly and can score when needed. Daniels is averaging 12.3 points, 6.9 assists, and 2.3 steals per game; Thomas is averaging 16.5 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.3 steals per game off the bench.
Mason Harrell vs. Tavares Sledge
Another big man matchup will be the Firebirds’ Harrell against the Cows’ Sledge. Both are dominant big men; Sledge is averaging 14.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while serving as a captain for the Cows, while Harrell is averaging 13.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game. Harrell seems to have the advantage here, although I imagine it’ll be war between these two.
You can see how the Flying Cows match up well in various areas with the Firebirds; however, in my obviously biased opinion, I think the Firebirds’ depth and lights-out shooting will give them a leg up on the Cows. They won’t be able to guard the likes of Daequon Antoine, Dreko Palmer, Ahmad Abdullah, and Kenny Collins at the same time; someone will have to be left open.
