Introducing our Youth Sports Theme Game
Originally my plan for today was to talk about how the TBL All-Star weekend went for our Firebirds that were participating. However, I think it’s more important to talk about the theme for our upcoming game this week and make sure we can get as many people to support the Firebirds on Saturday.
On Saturday, April 13th, the Firebirds are playing the Jacksonville 95ers. This game is our Youth Sports Game, one of the best themes we have throughout the season! For this game, we invite tons of local sports teams and players to watch the Firebirds (hopefully) cruise to a win. It’s a great chance to connect with the local community and foster relationships that can last a long time.
Last year, we had a few AAU basketball teams attend our Youth Sports Game, and it was great! However, just because we’re a basketball team doesn’t mean that youth athletes attending only have to be basketball players. Any youth athletes, regardless of sport, are welcome to attend this game and be recognized!
If you know any youth athletes or teams, don’t hesitate to reach out to them and let them know about the game! Especially with the new venue, we’re trying to make sure we pack the stands after the Firebirds return from their first road trip of the season.
Speaking of packing the stands…
I want to reiterate that home games are now played at Emergy Gymnasium, located on St. Augustine’s campus. The street address is 1315 Oakwood Avenue.
Make sure to buy tickets here before the game sells out!
