Introducing our First Round Draft Pick!

He's really going to elevate the team this season

I may have left you with a cliffhanger on Monday, but today, I’m here to introduce the Firebirds’ first-round draft pick!

With the fifth overall pick in the 2024 TBL draft, the Raleigh Firebirds selected…Glenn Robinson II! Robinson is a 6’6” guard/forward from Atlanta. He played college basketball at West Georgia, Coastal Alabama Community College, Kennesaw State, and Clayton State.

Robinson is 25 years old, meaning he’s about to be in the prime of his basketball career. He’s also the height of your average small forward, meaning he is the perfect fit for this roster. The Firebirds already have two incredible guards averaging close to or over 20 PPG in Daequon Antoine and Dreko Plamer; the team also features 6’9” Darius Leonard, 6’11” Desmond Jackson, and 6’11” Jerome Cunningham, meaning the team is fine at big too. Small forward was the position with the least depth on the team, and now, Robinson is filling that role.

While we haven’t even reached training camp yet, I think Firebirds’ management made a great selection in Robinson that will yield results later on in this season.

If you want to see Robinson play (and that 7’3” giant I was talking about on Monday) this season, then make sure you buy tickets now from the Firebirds’ website! We’re less than a month away from our first game!
