Happy Monday! Here's How the Firebirds Start Out Their Week:

(hint: it's very early)

Happy Monday! As we all know, Monday is the start of the week; but how do the Firebirds start their week? More importantly, what does a week look like for your favorite professional basketball players? In this edition of Firebird Focus, we’re breaking down what a week with the Firebirds looks like!

This morning, the Firebirds have their first practice of the day at 7:30 AM. The team is up and at it early, as greatness doesn’t hit the snooze button! That’s followed by a weight training session afterwards, and with the afternoon to recover, the players have practice again at 7:30 PM.

That’s already an exhausting day! But they get to sleep in the next morning…right?

Not really. Their first practice on Tuesday is at 8 AM, but it’s not basketball practice. Instead, it’s a pool workout working on strength and mobility. However, after the morning, the players do have the rest of the day off.

Wednesday consists of an early shooting workout, followed sometimes by an evening practice. Since the Firebirds are playing twice this weekend and one of those games is an away game, there is no evening practice. Thursday is dedicated entirely to rest and recovery so that the team can be locked in coming into their Friday evening game.

And that’s a week with the Firebirds! This doesn’t account for individual training sessions, practices, or lifts that players do by themselves; these are just mandatory team events. The players put in a lot of work to give Firebird fans the best product possible on the court…and so far, they haven’t disappointed.

As I mentioned above, the Firebirds play two games this weekend, one home and one away. Our home game is on Friday, March 22nd, at 7 PM. The theme for this game is Sponsors and Season Ticket Holders, where we celebrate everyone who helps make the Raleigh Firebirds a reality! Make sure to buy your tickets for the game here.
