Our Date(s) With Tampa Bay
Believe it or not, today is actually game day! Tonight, we’ll be taking on the Titans (in Tampa Bay) at 7 PM. Then, we’ll be playing them again at 7 PM on Saturday. These two games are incredibly important for the Firebirds, as they’ll set the tone for who the top team in the South Atlantic Division is.
The Firebirds record sits at 7-2 after last weekend’s heroics, while the Titans are 7-1. Splitting the series with them would keep the status quo, but winning would give us a decisive series advantage, which may prove crucial come playoff time.

Off to Mexico

We want to give a huge shoutout to Firebirds’ big man Mason Harrell! Mason just signed a contract to play professionally with Venados in Mexico’s CIBACOPA. While we’ll miss him dearly on the court, we’re extremely excited for Mason, and all that awaits him for his career.
Mason stands at 6’8”, but he makes his presence felt even while standing a little short for a traditional big man. Mason is a beast on the boards, blocks shots like nobody’s business, and can bring a crowd to its feet with his put-back dunks. With the Firebirds this season, Mason averaged 12.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game.

A Game on Sunday Too?

That’s right! This weekend the Firebirds are pulling out the rare triple-header; after two games in Tampa Bay, the Firebirds will drive to Jacksonville to play the 95ers on Sunday. The 3 PM matchup will be our third game against the 95ers this season. We may be 3-0, but we’ve never beaten them by more than 10 points. Plus, with Jacksonville still being winless, they are hungry and looking for any opportunity to snatch a win.
As with all road games, you can tune in to the action on TBLTV. Don’t miss the opportunity to support your favorite basketball team!

That’s all for this weekend! I’ll recap all three games and give you a record update on Monday.
Until then,
