Happy Firebirds Friday! As always, the Firebirds will be appearing on The Sports Shop Radio Show, and this week’s guest is Corey Branch.

Branch is running to be Mayor of Raleigh in this upcoming election cycle. He has immense experience in serving the city, as he’s currently on Raleigh City Council, and has been since 2015. He’s also held the position of Mayor Pro Tempore in the past (2018-2021), proving that he knows what the position entails and how to do the job well. Branch’s focus in public service is improving housing availability for all incomes, a modern and reliable transit system, economic development for underserved communities and populations, and programs to aid and assist the youth and young adults of Raleigh. Aside from city council, he’s held a number of leadership positions on a variety of boards…so many boards in fact that I don’t think I can list them all, and will leave a link to them here instead.

Branch is a Raleigh native, having been born in Wake County, attending high school at Enloe, and getting his degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. He also happens to be a big Firebirds fan!
