It's Gameday!!!!

What to expect from this series and Firebird Focus

Game 1 against the Albany Patroons is tonight! Here’s what to know about the series and what to expect if you’re attending the game:

This is the schedule for Round 2 against the Patroons. Because the Patroons had a better record during the regular season, they have a home-court advantage for this series. For the TBL, this means that in a best-of-three series, Albany plays Game 2 and Game 3 (if needed) at home. That means that the Firebirds only play Game 1 of this series at home, which is why it’s so crucial to get the win and have as many people as possible in attendance.

The other two games can be tuned into via TBLTV. While a subscription to the service is pricey, you can buy a single game for only $5, 1/4th of what admission at a game costs.

This series against the Patroons is particularly important for the Firebirds, as it’s a revenge series. In their inaugural season, the Firebirds made it to the league semi-finals, only to be beaten by Albany. The Firebirds were four points away from winning the final game that would have propelled them to the TBL championship, but alas, the team lost. Now, it’s time to flip the script on them.

Because Games 2 and 3 will be played on back-to-back days, there will be an issue of Firebird Focus sent out next Monday recapping the series and how it went down in its entirety. If you want updates on the games more quickly, however, make sure to follow the Firebirds on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

I can’t wait for the Firebirds to keep advancing in the playoffs, and to see you tonight for Game 1! 7 PM tip, Emery Gymnasium (1315 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC)…and there are those limited edition Firebird T-Shirts that you should buy if you get their early enough :)
