Firebirds Narrowly Taking Down 95ers, 119-116 🏀

Jacksonville may still be winless this far into the season, but that doesn’t mean they roll over every time we play them. On the contrary, they’re incredibly hungry for a win, and each game proves to be a close, relentless battle. Never have we beaten the 95ers by double digits.

Thankfully, the Firebirds got the win at home to start the weekend, improving their record to 6-2. Daequon Antoine finished with 20 points on great shooting efficiency, while Mason Harrell was key in the paint with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Firebirds Blow Out Buccaneers By 47 🔥

The Firebirds had one of the best games of their season yesterday, defeating the Savannah Buccaneers by a whopping 47 points. The game started close throughout the first half, as the Firebirds led by one at the end of the first quarter and seven at halftime. However, the Firebirds seriously opened up the game in the 2nd half, outscoring the Buccaneers by 20 points in the 3rd quarter. They didn’t let up in the fourth when the game was decided; they continued hammering away, outscoring the Buccaneers by 32 points in the fourth quarter. The final score was 152-105.

Everyone shined in this blowout victory. DJ Thomas was our leading scorer, dropping 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Almost every Firebirds player scored in double figures; however, the most impressive stat line belonged to big man Julian Gamble, who dropped a 22-point 11-rebound 10-assist triple-double. Wow!

Birds Getting Some Sunshine 🦅

The next action for your Firebirds comes this weekend, when the team takes a road trip to Florida. In three days, they’ll play three games, facing off against the Tampa Bay Titans (twice) and Jacksonville 95ers. However, the team won’t play at home again until the last Saturday of the month (April 26th). That game will be our multi-cultural-themed game, where we face off against the 95ers. If you’re feeling like a particularly good planner, go ahead and purchase those tickets now!

Until that game on the 26th, I’ll keep you posted on the Firebirds’ road travels. Make sure to tune in on TBLTV to keep up with all the action!

Make sure to stay tuned for Wednesday’s edition!

Until then,
