Firebirds Changing Home Venue For Rest of Season

Weekend Recap
As your guide through the Firebirdsā season, I have to report on this loss, as much as it pains me. In Alabama, the Firebirds had a double-header against the Rocket City Flight, playing them both on Saturday and Sunday. While the Firebirds came away victorious on Saturday, the team lost by four points on Sunday, 103-107. Back-to-back games against the same team are notoriously difficult to win, especially when both are road games. Still, while the loss unfortunately puts the first blemish on the Firebirds record, thereās still good that can come.
āIf weāre going to have a loss, we prefer to have it now where we can make it adjustments and continue the run that weāre on,ā said team market owner Wade Harris after the game. āWe just have a few kinks we need to work through.ā
Coach Mitch is TBL co-Coach of the Month!
The Potawatomi Fire are now the only undefeated team left in The Basketball League (they currently sit at 8-0). Itās why both the Fireās head coach and the Firebirdsā own Mitch Jeffries were named TBL co-coaches of the month.
Even with the single loss, the Firebirds remain one of the best teams in the TBL, and are undefeated at home! Speaking of homeā¦
Home Venue Changing for Rest of Season
Starting with our next home game on Saturday, April 13th, the Firebirds will be playing all their home games at St. Augustine Universityās gym, Emergy Gymnasium. This is an exciting change for the team, as we partner with St. Augustineās for the rest of the season. Being a university and not a high school, St. Augustineās gym seats far more people than Word of God does. With all the Firebird fans that have been attending games this year, itās time to fill up more seats!
A fun fact you may know if youāve been following the team for long enough: former Firebird Kenny Collins played collegiate basketball at St. Augustineās University.
On Wednesday, make sure to check your inboxes for a recap of the Firebirds at All-Star weekend!
Until then,
