The Firebirds Have Some All-Star Representation

Happy Firebirds Friday! Per usual, we’ll be heading on the Sports Shop Radio this morning to talk about the season and all things Firebirds. So, let me introduce our guests for this week.

This week, Daequon Antoine and Chris Lightner will be appearing on the show. For those who don’t know, Lightner is the General Manager of the Raleigh Firebirds, and a former player as well. Antoine is a current player for the Firebirds, a 20-point-per-game scorer, and is recovering from a series of minor injuries to start his season. However, because he’s recovered quickly enough, Antoine will be attending TBL All-Star Weekend to represent the Firebirds in the three-point shootout!

Last year, Antoine won the contest, so we’ll have to see if he can repeat his magic. Additionally, Dreko Palmer will be attending All-Star weekend not just in the All-Star game, but also in the TBL’s 1v1 competition. Palmer is an incredible isolation scorer, so the highlights from this should be super fun to watch. Stay tuned to our social media!

There are no Firebirds games this weekend, but just so you know…

Only two teams in The Basketball League are still undefeated.

The Los Angeles Ignite dropped a game to the San Diego Sharks, making them 6-1! So now, it’s just down to the Firebirds and the Potawatomi Fire. The Fire also don’t play this weekend, so we’ll have to wait until next weekend to see if they’ll remain undefeated, or be the next team to drop in the TBL standings.
