Firebird’s Fitness Challenge!

Raleigh Firebirds Corporate Fitness Challenge: Get Fit Together!
Challenge Overview: Join the Raleigh Firebirds in promoting health and wellness in our community with the Corporate Fitness Challenge! This initiative encourages local companies and their employees to participate in a month-long fitness challenge focused on weight loss, body fat percentage reduction, and overall wellness. Each company will nominate at least one representative to compete, promoting teamwork and camaraderie while striving for personal fitness goals.
Challenge Details:
- Duration: 1 Month
- Start Date: August 15th, 2025
- End Date: September 15th, 2025
- Participants: Each participating company must submit at least one representative to join the challenge.
What’s Included:
1. Initial Assessments: Participants will undergo initial weigh-ins and body fat percentage measurements, along with before photos.
2. Meal Plans: Customized meal plans will be provided to participants designed to promote weight loss and healthy eating habits.
3. Personal Training: Each participant will receive three personal training sessions per week with certified trainers for one month, focusing on individual fitness goals.
4. Before and After Photos: Participants will take before photos at the start of the challenge and after photos at the end to visually track their progress.
5. Incentives: The top three participants with the most significant improvements in weight loss and body fat percentage will be recognized. Participating companies can win additional prizes for encouraging their employees' involvement!
Promote Community Health: By enrolling in this challenge, companies support the Firebirds Community Health Initiative and help promote a culture of health and fitness in the Raleigh area.

Community Highlight: Evette Pettus
Evette Pettus is a seasoned pharmaceutical industry leader with a well-established track record of success across multiple roles and levels of responsibility, beginning her career as a Clinical Research Associate and rising to her current role as Director of Project Delivery, where she provides executive oversight of global clinical programs. With deep expertise in clinical operations, regulatory requirements, team leadership, cross-functional program management, operational strategizing and risk management, Evette has led the successful delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives across diverse therapeutic areas and global regions to achieve pipeline development and regulatory approvals.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business and an MBA with dual concentrations in Business Analytics and Supply Chain Management, which have equipped her with the analytical and strategic thinking skills necessary to lead at scale.
A passionate advocate for professional development, Evette has played a pivotal role in the growth of numerous team members across the pharmaceutical and biotech landscape. She has served as a formal mentor within corporate programs and offers informal mentoring to professionals and students. Her mentorship journey began with Communities in Schools in Raleigh and expanded through her involvement with Leadership Raleigh. Additionally, at SCORE Academy, she presents to students about career paths in the pharmaceutical industry. She continues to support SCORE Academy and is currently developing additional initiatives to help students define their dreams and create pathways to achieve them as well as serves as a mentor to several students.
Evette’s commitment to leadership extends beyond the workplace. She is a former President of the RTP Chapter of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and has held certification through ACRP. She is an active member of Triangle Women in STEM, where she engages in initiatives that promote science and technology education, including participating in the 2025 Girl Scout STEM Day at Duke University. Evette is also a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, supporting the advancement of women in the healthcare industry. Through these affiliations, she continues to elevate professional standards and build inclusive communities within the life sciences sector.
Her dedication to service is evident in her extensive volunteer leadership. Evette serves on the Board of Directors of EarthShare North Carolina, where she is serving as the Immediate Chair of the Board, advocating for environmental education and nonprofit collaboration. She is a committed member of the Junior League of Raleigh, having held several leadership roles focused on community impact and internal organizational development, Additionally, she is also a proud member of Soroptimist International, where she contributes to initiatives that support women and girls through education, mentorship, and advocacy as well as served on the Board. Currently, Evette is founding a nonprofit in honor of her great-grandmother, designed to help youth develop critical skills and define a roadmap to college or career success.
Whether in the boardroom, classroom, or community, Evette Pettus leads with purpose, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others reach their potential.
