Game Recap

In a thrilling Friday night matchup, the Firebirds emerged victorious against the Capital Seahawks, 121 to 115. It was a hard-fought battle that showcased the resilience and skill of both teams, but ultimately, the FIREBIRDS š¦āš„ triumphed.
The Seahawks featured standout performances, notably from Maurice Creek, who went 9 for 17 from the field, finishing the night with a commendable 28 points. Sam Akano also made his mark, contributing 24 points and 9 assists, keeping the pressure on the Firebirds throughout the game.
For Raleigh, DJ Thomas was nothing short of spectacular, leading the charge with 29 points on 12 of 19 shooting. His sharp shooting and relentless drive helped propel the Firebirds to victory. Our 2025 TBL All-Star Julian Gamble also had an impressive outing, delivering 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists, showcasing his versatility in the paint and playmaking ability. Dreko Palmer added solid support with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, rounding out a well-balanced offensive effort.
This game provided an excellent test for the Firebirds, marking an important out-of-division matchup and offering a glimpse into the competitiveness of the North and Mid-Atlantic divisions. With the playoffs just a few weeks away, this game was a great simulation of both playoff competition and atmosphere.

The Week Ahead

As crazy as it sounds, the Firebirdsā season is already almost over. Only two home games are left for the team, and theyāre both happening this upcoming week.
The Firebirds are hitting the road to play the Buccaneers in Savannah on Thursday, but on Saturday, May 17th, weāll be playing the Jacksonville 95ers at 4:00 PM!
