Another Successful Weekend for the Firebirds!

We're now 11-4 on the season

The Firebirds had a very successful weekend! Read all about it here:

The Raleigh Firebirds went 2-0 this weekend. The team kicked off their giving weekend to St. Augustine’s University on Friday night against the Jacksonville 95ers, who traveled from Florida. The 95ers stole a game at the Firebirds home court in April, and the team wasn’t going to take that disrespect! With the addition of UNC basketball standout Desmond Jackson, the Firebirds defense was once again playing at a very high level. Led by Dreko Palmer and Tre Gray (each with 15 points), the Firebirds defended their home court with valor.

Game 2 on Sunday was against the Buccaneers from Savannah Georgia. The Firebirds lost to them in a one-point heartbreaker on the 14th, and once again, the team was looking for revenge. The Firebirds started strong and finished strong, getting key contributions from six players in double figures. Because of these two key wins, the Firebirds are 11-4, continuing to hold the number one seed in the Southeast Division.

The Firebirds head off to Jacksonville, Florida, for a doubleheader on Thursday and Friday evening, and will return home for another epic battle on Sunday, May 5th, at the Friends and Family game to face the Virginia Valley Vipers! Stay tuned for more great basketball in the month of May as the Firebirds have four home games to finish the season.
